Acroyoga Therapeutics (open level)
Saturday 9/11/10
10:15am-1:15 & 3:15pm-6:15

Love is the most healing energy in the universe.
-Deepak Chopra.

The Buddhist monks knew this, the Thai masters knew this and AcroYogis know this! We clear our minds and become present with our breath in preparation to channel the ancient wisdom of Metta - loving kindness. Thai massage lays the foundation of compassionate touch, receptivity and communication. The techniques learned on the floor will be taken to the air in the flying work. Flying can be a deeply transformational way to surrender to gravity and to the support of a partner, allowing unnecessary holdings to be released. We will work in groups of 3 - base, flyer and spotter - to ensure safety and to encourage teamwork. The dance of giving and receiving will leave everyone in the room floating with gratitude. No partner necessary. a yoga practice
recommended and the openness to turning your world upside down.

Wisdom of Acrobatics (intermediate level)
(
Prerequisite: One Previous AcroYoga Workshop)
Sunday 9/12/10

9am-12

AcroYoga aims to bring yogic awareness to the power and grace of acrobatics. Confidence, concentration, trust and agility are all elements that support the embodiment of an acrobat and can help any person feel more empowered in their daily lives. In the process, we learn to cultivate trust in others and ourselves while expanding our collective potential.

We will begin by training the foundational elements of an acrobatic practice, including the refinement of inversions, strength building elements and spotting techniques. We will build progressively into the fluid dance of acrobatic power and yogic grace, weaving skills together in acrobatic flying and partner balancing sequences. Specialized acrobatics roles will empower students to unlock their potential in a safe and supportive environment.

Therapeutic flying and Thai massage are the practices that hone an acrobat's ability to be sensitive and receptive. We will infuse these therapeutic practices during the weekend to ease soreness and fatigue in the body from a strong practice.

Prerequisites include: One Previous AcroYoga Workshop
