Open HeART Space

Facilitating the flow of creative energy

Kara Seymour is the visionary creator of Open HeART Space.  Kara's yoga practice has gifted her with the insight that we are connected to everyone and everything.   Yoga has also shown her the importance of taking full responsibility for her physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Yoga for Kara is a constant reminder to be aware of the present moment and to be grateful for this gift of life.
Most recently Kara Completed an AcroYoga Teacher Training with co-founders Jenny Sauer-Klein and Jason Nemer in August 2010, for more info visit www.acroyoga.org.  And in July of 2008 Kara completed a separate Acro Yoga Training in Montreal with co-founders Jessie Goldberg and Eugene Poku www.acroyoga.com.      Kara is so grateful for the AcroYoga practice and the richness it has brought to her own practice and life!

In May of 2004 Kara began a year long 200 hour teacher training program with
YogaSpirits Studios. This incredibly in depth experience gave her the tools to teach yoga to all abilities, all ages, and to organically create her own teaching style.

Kara creatively incorporates the traditional ancient yoga practices into our modern day lifestyle.  Her classes are designed to fit the needs of the students that are present, while assisting all in safely progressing in their practice.  Kara supports students in discovering their own internal rhythms and allowing the breath to guide the body's movements.  Kara’s vibrant personality and enthusiasm for life shines through in her work, as her classes focus on finding ease and joy in the body so that life can mirror the experience on the mat. Kara’s classes will leave you totally uplifted and inspired to live with an open heart!

Kara is also a practitioner of massage and polarity therapy, as well as Thai Yoga Massage. All of these practices compliment each other and have given Kara many tools to share with her students. Kara’s nuturing and knowledgable guidance assists people in trusting and acting upon their bodies’ innate wisdom and discovering their own inner healers as they gain and maintain optimal health.

Mission Statement

Open HeART Space encourages all to explore and express their own heart space as we engage in the arts of AcroYoga, Yoga, Movement, and Bodywork. Through the healing arts we will delve deep within so that our truths will be revealed and acted upon. The activation of each individual’s truth is important for our spiritual progression as a whole. Once connected to your truth, your heart guides your journey. At Open HeART Space we create a safe environment where you are free to open to your unique, creative Self as you go beyond the boundaries you have set and go deep within so that you can learn to quiet the chattering of the mind and to hear what it is you truly need and desire.

Come to Open HeART Space and have an experience that you will take off the mat and into the world. One that will connect you deeper not only to all that surrounds you, but one that will get your creative juices flowing as you peel back the layers and connect to your heart. The physical manifestation of your heart is your art, art is not and can not be separate from the he(ART).

Open HeART Space believes that community plays one of the most important roles in our evolutionary progression. Life has its challenges and its blessings and it’s in both of these times when community can come together and assist in either lightening the load of an individual or group or can be there to celebrate and raise the vibration . Open HeART Space is a community that is supportive and encouraging of creative endevors, collaborations, and networking. Together we are celebrating our diversity, while simultaneously connecting to our Oneness, the source from which we are all created.

But remember, this is all a practice. There will be some days, weeks, or years, where you can sustain Downward Facing Dog for five deep breaths or dance for hours, and then there will be times when it will be a challenge just to get to your mat, or to remember how incredible it felt when you moved your body. It is not about how flexible you are or how fluid your movements are, it is about working with what you’ve got and where you’re at each day, without expectations and judgments for both yourself and your neighbors. It's about getting out what's inside of you without being concerned with the quality. Together at Open HeART Space we are working to let go of the past, to live in the present, while making decisions that will positively impact our future. Our spiritual practices reminds us that we are active participants in co-creating our life experiences and that we always have a choice.
